Photo of the day #42
August 2, 2013, 2:54 PM
Random photo from my collection.
I’ve dabbled in a lot of photography genres, especially when I was first starting out. There wasn’t much I said no to. I always approached each project with professionalism, even if it was a subject matter that I couldn’t necessarily relate to. I considered each new opportunity a learning experience.
I did two photoshoots for this artist, who was a gothic poet and songwriter at the time. I think some of the other photos from this shoot might be off-putting to some people, so I’ll have to reconsider where those files are stored unless I want another one to pop up for POTD. While artistic, they might not be everyone’s cup of tea.
I say no to a lot of shoots now. I don’t prefer to do wedding photography. As I have no experience in newborn photography, I won’t be picking that up any time soon. There are excellent photographers who are far more suited for specialized photography than myself. My experience has, unfortunately, been so broad that I’ve never niched down. I mainly do photography for myself because I enjoy it, and it’s a way to express myself.
