This photo was taken at Renninger’s Antique and Farmer’s Market, where my Uncle Doug would man the grill and serve food to the Delaware Valley Historic Radio Club – DVHRC during their twice-a-year Kutztown Antique Radio & Vintage Audio Show. It’s a two-day radio meet-up, but setup begins Thursday. Friday begins with breakfast sandwiches almost as soon as the sun comes up. Then burgers and dogs for lunch. Then dinner time, he’d do his famous steak dinner. Saturday breakfast is served again and sometimes lunch too. Then, it’s time to tear it all back down. I’ve helped a couple of years, but not anywhere near as much as the rest of his dedicated crew of family and friends. It’s tough work. The customers are tough, too. When you get a long line of hungry radio collectors, it isn’t pretty.

In 2021, I brought Elisabeth down to the show on Friday night to get to see the family. Here she is in her Paw Patrol jammies alongside her cousin Brenna.
