A Mother’s Work
Photo of the day #29
September 4, 2021, 3:33 PM
Random photo from my collection.
A view of me and Elisabeth in my office when I was 7 months pregnant. I had probably just gotten back from Nicole’s bridal shower by the look of my maternity dress and curled hair. There’s no telling what is going on in this photo. Maybe I sat down to review the photos that I took at the bridal shower; maybe I had a little bit of work to do, or maybe I was just in my office hiding from everyone. The photo is in a folder titled “Panasonic tests”, so Zac must have just gotten the camera and was testing it out.
What stands out to me is my half-smile and my tired expression. I was very big when I was pregnant with Johanna. She was like a basketball. For weeks I thought she’d “come any day now”.
It’s a nice candid that Zac took of me, and it tells a lot of stories in one little photo. My office, in general, is stuffed full of objects symbolizing family members and memories. I’m a bit short on time today to write, so that’s all I got for this one. But grateful for the photo and the memory. Here are a few more sweet photos from the same set.
