Ariel
Photo of the day #63

Random photo from my collection.
One of the highlights of having kids is having an excuse to color again and do all kinds of kid things in general. We played out in the snow yesterday and built a snowman. I was working on a snow fort/igloo of sorts, and the girls wanted to go back inside. I admit I was bummed I didn’t get to finish my fort and almost considered staying outside by myself. Sadly, the kids’ attention span for most activities is much shorter than mine.
The cool thing about being a “graphic designer,” or someone who knows how to use a computer and printer, is the ability to print coloring pages off the internet. I can find almost anything Elisabeth could dream of in a coloring page style for her to color. In this photo, I’ve printed out some Disney coloring sheets for Elisabeth. But here I am, focused on the smoothness of the red colored pencil strokes coloring Ariel’s hair while Elisabeth works on peeling off the paper on the red crayon.
That’s not to say Elisabeth doesn’t enjoy arts & crafts. My whole office wall is usually filled with her artwork. She said making things for people is how she shows she loves them. It brings me back to when I was younger and I had a little “desk” in my bedroom. It was part of a countertop wedged into a small cubby-size part of my bedroom. I would make all kinds of artwork and proudly tape them to my wall for my “gallery.”
