I had a fantastic day on Saturday at the 2nd Annual Farm Festival at the Historic Dreibelbis Farm. The weather was just perfect and the turnout was really great. I didn’t even know this rare gem was right under my nose! Located in Virginville, the Historic Dreibelbis Farm is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is the second oldest continuously owned family farm in Berks County [1].

The festival had a lot to offer: demonstrations, guest speakers, a band, house tours and even the Berks County Dairy Princess. I especially loved house tour — it was well done and informative. Both the exterior and the interior of the red brick house are beautifully kept. I would highly recommend going to this next year if you didn’t make it out this year; It’s a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives. I really appreciate what the family is doing at the Farm — keeping it preserved for future generations to learn about and appreciate. Not only does the Farm tell the story of the family, it is also a perfect example living on a farm in Berks County in that era.

A big thanks to Mark & Janine Dreibelbis, the entire family and all of the volunteers for making this day possible! Keep up to date with what’s going on at the Dreibelbis Farm by checking out their facebook.
